A little history...
In 1965, the Communes of Courmelois, Thuisy and Wez merged to become Val de Vesle.
Of the 3 existing churches, that of Wez became the place of worship for the new town.
It is placed under the double title of Notre Dame and Saint-Éloi, which makes it special because it is rare to see Notre Dame share a patronage.
The Church of Wez will not be spared in 1918, any more than the rest of the village: completely destroyed, it will be rebuilt by decision of the Municipal Council of January 6, 1928. The blessing of the church will take place on Sunday September 27, 1931.
The restoration project

In 1987, the interior was renovated. Today, it is time to rehabilitate the roof identically.
Initially, it will be the slate roofing of the bell tower up to the abatsons which will be redone.
We are calling on you to help us by making a donation. All donations, regardless of the amount, are important and we count on your generosity.
The counterparties
​
The counterparties are as follows:
* A postcard with the photo of the church per slice of €10, up to a donation of €100.
* Between 100 and 250 € of donation: delivery of a diploma "Benefactor of the church of Val de Vesle".
* Beyond 250 € of donation: a plate with the name of the donors which will be fixed in the church.
Each company that makes a donation will be given a painting with a photo of the church and the words "I am a patron of Val de Vesle".
